Items

Overview

An Item is any product or service that Cola Solar buys, sells, or stocks — solar panels, inverters, batteries, cables, installation services, etc.

To access: Stock → Item

Creating an Item

1. Go to Stock → Item → New
2. Enter the Item Code — a short unique identifier e.g. SOL-PAN-400W
3. Enter the Item Name — full descriptive name
4. Select the Item Group — e.g. Solar Panels, Inverters, Accessories
5. Select the Unit of Measure — Nos, Kg, Metres, etc.
6. Set the following as needed:
   • Maintain Stock — tick this for physical stock items
   • Is Sales Item — tick if sold to customers
   • Is Purchase Item — tick if purchased from suppliers
7. Under Defaults, set the default Warehouse
8. Click Save

Setting Item Prices

1. Open the Item record
2. Click Create → Price
   or go to Stock → Item Price → New
3. Select the Price List — Standard Selling or Standard Buying
4. Enter the Rate
5. Click Save

Checking Stock Level for an Item

1. Open the Item record
2. Click Stock Balance from the top dashboard
3. This shows current quantity per warehouse
